Q. How quickly can you deliver? Do you do emergency or same-day delivery?

A. Mr Oil Man will deliver within 1-3 workings days from order. If you require an urgent delivery, please contact our Sales team on 071 984 0000 between Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm and Sat 9am – 2pm, at your earliest convenience so we can do our best if in the area to guarantee your delivery. If ordering through the website, please add as much detail when ordering if requiring an urgent delivery, for example: I am out of oil.

Q. How do I check how much oil is left in my tank?

A. To check how much oil is left in your tank, you can use the tank's built-in gauge, a manual dipstick, a sight tube, or an electronic/smart monitor gauge.

 

Q. How long does 500 / 900 litres last?

A. 500-litre supply of heating oil typically lasts 2 to 3 months in winter or 4 to 6+ months in warmer months. A 900-litre supply typically lasts 4 to 6 months over winter or up to a full year if used across milder seasons. These estimations are subject to how well insulated your house is, how often your boiler is serviced and how often you have your heating on.

Q. Kerosene vs gas oil (green diesel).Which do I need?

A. You need kerosene for standard modern home heating boilers, AGAs, and oil stoves in the UK. You need gas oil (green diesel) only if you operate an older heating boiler designed for it, or use it for off-road machinery, agricultural equipment, or generators.

Q. How do I pay? Can I pay on delivery or by card?

A. Payment is via card payment over the phone to the office or via online orders on https://www.mroilman.ie/ as a pre-authorisation or cash on delivery to the driver. Please note the driver cannot accept card on delivery.

 

Q. What do I do if I run out of oil? How do I bleed/restart my boiler?

A. Our drivers are not covered by insurance to bleed or restart boilers. The driver is responsible for delivering your oil as ordered. If you need support, please contact our office on 071 984 0000 if you need a plumber recommended.

 

Q. How can I protect my tank from oil theft?

A. We recommend that you have a lock on your tank or screen the tank by building a fence or wall to block the view of your tank. Please always ensure you have your tank unlocked to be able to receive your oil delivery.

 

Q. Do you deliver coal / other fuels?

A. Mr Oil Man can deliver Kerosene or Gas Oil (Green Diesel).

 

Q. Is there a price for buying in bulk (1,000L) and is it cheaper per litre?
